WHAT CAUSES BLACK RESIDUE INSIDE MY CANDLE?Updated 2 months ago
Black residue, or soot, can appear on the inside of your candle jar if the wick isn’t trimmed correctly. Always ensure your wick is upright and trimmed to no less than 6mm before each burn.
Long burn times can also cause the wick to “mushroom,” creating a larger flame that produces more soot and heat, which can shorten your candle’s lifespan.
If residue does appear, it can easily be wiped away with a soft cloth once the candle has cooled.
